Nitol-infected PCs immediately and automatically search the Internet for other computers to connect to and attack. According to the microsoft a domain – 3322.org is doing this malicious activity since 2008 and has 70,000 sub domains in its control.
Richard Domingues Boscovich, assistant general counsel in Microsoft Digital Crimes Unit.says
“What’s especially disturbing is that the counterfeit software embedded with malware could have entered the chain at any point as a computer travels among companies that transport and resell the computer,”
“The Nitol botnet malware itself carries out distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks that are able to cripple large networks by overloading them with internet traffic, and creates hidden access points on the victim’s computer to allow even more malware – or anything else for that matter – to be loaded onto an infected computer.”
Microsoft has filled the suit against server owner peng yong and the good news is that Microsoft won the court orders and till now Microsoft has managed to block 37 million malware connection from 3322.org
