Android 4.0 ICS update for LG Optimus 2X : It’s Late but better than never:

LG has finally announced official Ice Cream sandwich ICS update for LG Optimus 2X, this is one of the much awaited updates,  nearly about one and a half year. This update was expected this late, as we in our post mentioned with detail, that what this update is going to have and when it’s going to be available.

Today devices are being updated to jelly bean 4.1 and 4.2, but LG just left its one of the most powerful device of its time, and now are updating it to ICS. This update is available to Europe via OTA (Over the air). The new firmware version is V30a.

This new update gives Optimus 2X to enjoy a new user interface with new LG launcher. it’s is going to be attractive than before, though LG announced source code of this Device but have also released it update, now it might help developers more to bring new and customized ROMs by getting idea from this update.

This late update of LG Optimus to ICS is no doubt sign that this device is not getting next official update, that is it’s not going to get Jelly Bean update, but we hope from developers to not leave this device behind as LG did and bring out more and more fun stuffs and ROM for such devices.

We hope that LG  will learn lesson from this and will support its new devices like LG Optimus G, in updating it to latest firmware versions.

Nokia has introduced another member of Lumia family, it is Nokia Lumia 620. This Dual-Core is powered with latest windows 8. Nokia said that it is a mid-range smart phone so a windows 8 phone at attractive price.

1 GHz Dual core with 512 mb of Ram is not that powerful, also this phone doesn’t have LTE, but we can expect this from a midrange phone. but 3.8 inch of display , 5 Megapixel rear camera with autofocus capabilities and LED flash, VGA Font facing camera, Dolby sound enhancement and great attractive dual colors makes it a perfect multimedia phone with great multitasking ability. Also this device will be having access to nokia drive app.

With such specification and being a mid-range smartpphone it seems to be an attractive device for windows phone lovers, now how it competes with other smart phones in this range, specially with those which are powered with android. this device will be available in different colors.
